Of course, those who were born here are automatically considered New Yorkers, regardless of how long they call it their home. Because you can take the people out of New York City, but you cannot take New York City out of the people. We’re well acquainted with famous New Yorkers like Jerry Seinfeld and Jay-Z, but the following three actresses who were born in the Big Apple may shock you!

Saoirse Ronan

She blew us away at the age of 13 in Atonement, even earning herself a place among the youngest actresses ever to be nominated for an Academy Award. We know her and love her from popular titles like The Princess Diaries and Les Misérables, but what most people don’t know is that Oscar-winner Anne Hathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York City! She even lived in New York City until the age of 6, when she and her family relocated to New Jersey.
